Engineer by training.
Builder by nature.
Hi, I'm Stephen.
I'm a software engineer and web developer based in Denver, Colorado, with a B.S. in Software Engineering and a minor in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.
For the past six years I've worked at Deckers Brands — home to UGG, HOKA, Teva, and more — where I've grown from customer care into a communications coaching role focused on reporting infrastructure, process automation, and cross-functional operations across Analytics, QA, Legal, and Marketing teams.
Outside of my full-time position I design, build, and maintain websites for local businesses and entrepreneurs — handling everything from architecture and development to deployment, e-commerce integration, and ongoing maintenance. My current personal project is Ledgerly, a standalone personal finance app built entirely in vanilla JavaScript with no external dependencies.
I'm actively pursuing a transition into a technical role that better reflects my engineering background. I'm currently completing a Front-End Development Libraries certification through freeCodeCamp, building on Responsive Web Design and JavaScript Algorithms & Data Structures certifications earned in 2024 and 2025.
When I'm not at a keyboard, I'm spending time with my family, girlfriend, and two cats, watching sports with friends, jamming at a concert, hitting the slopes, or out on the golf course.
What drives my work
Clarity over complexity
Good code and good design share the same goal — making something hard feel simple. I build with the end user in mind.
Data-informed decisions
Six years of building reporting infrastructure taught me that the right metric at the right time changes everything. I bring that instinct to every project.
Continuous growth
I maintain five live client sites, work through freeCodeCamp certifications, and build personal projects — all while holding a full-time role. Momentum matters.
